OnePlus Nord 2 - A worthy successor?

Image
OnePlus Nord 2: specs and leaks    The specs of the OnePlus Nord 2 have been leaked on  Twitter  and it does look promising. At least on paper. It does have a specification bump from the OnePlus Nord, but how good will it be off the paper. The original Nord was a good product on paper but few problems cropped up after the product was launched. The tint on the display and the camera not being able to live up to the hype were the main problems. But let's check out the Nord 2. Processor the Nord 2 will be coming out with a  Dimensity 1200 SoC under the hood. Therefore there is no doubt that it is a 5G chipset. It is also a 6nm technology with a 612070 Antutu score, along with a Geekbench score of 925 for single-core and 3265 for multi-score. It sure is a powerful chipset. RAM and Storage It may come in 2 variants- 8/128 and 12/256 versions. There may also be a 6 GB RAM variant for the Indian market just like the Nord. Camera  The Nord 2 will be launching with 64MP rear-cam system. 4

Intel vs AMD in 2021

Image
Which one to go for in 2021?  Intel had absolute monarchy in the CPU area until the launch of the AMD Ryzen series. Now there is much confusion about which one to go for, right now in 2021. this post will try to clear it up as briefly and as comprehensible as possible. This is for beginners so there won't be complex numbers. Single-core So the basic thumb rule is "Intel is faster at single-core processing while Ryzen is better at multitasking". This means that Intel will be better when performing a single task at a time. It will put out better performance while gaming, providing better fps.   Now, it is to be noted that AMD is not far behind itself.   Multi-core AMD is much superior at multi-core processing. It handles multitasking better. Ryzen chips have more cores than Intel chips in their mid and top-end models. The Ryzen therefore, performs better at video and graphics editing and 3D rendering, etc. Intel chips use hyperthreading to slightly improve their multi-core

Bitcoin and it's consequences

Image
Environmental Crisis. Elon Musk, one of the most vocal supporters of Bitcoin, recently took a U-turn and issued  a statement informing that Tesla won't be accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. What prompted this action? "We are concerned about the rapidly increasing use of fossil fuel for mining and transaction, especially coal, which has the worst emission of any fuel." Bitcoin mining is the process of creating a new virtual coin that involves computers to solve complex algorithms. this process ends up using tons of electricity. The miners use powerful systems to mine blocks and verify transactions. That is why they have to rely on chunks of electricity. To avail electricity in these quantities, fossil fuels have to be used. this is pretty bad for the environment.  An estimate shows 120 Terawatts of electricity is being used per year to mine bitcoins, which even more than the total consumption of many countries. And these are being produced with fossil fuels. These pro

What is Google's new software?

What is Fuchsia?  All you need to know, in brief                                                           Since August 2016, Google has been working on a project, building a new Operating System from the ground up. And now in 2021, it has unveiled a version that would run on consumer products which is the original Nest Hub.  Fuchsia uses a new kernel code called Zircon. A kernel controls everything in a system and facilitates the interaction between software and hardware components.  Different OS uses different kernels. Fuchsia is written in C++. Also knowing the downsides of Android, Zircon was built completely by Google .  The interface and initial user applications are written in flutter, which is another google project. Flutter is an open-source UI software development kit. It is used for creating applications for Android, Web, IOS, etc to make it feel the same across platforms. Going on we might see both premium and budget phones using Fuchsia. Right now Google Fuchsia will most

Next Qualcomm Snapdragon launch?

Image
Snapdragon might be launching  its next flagship!  A very reliable  source  has provided some very interesting details about the part number "SM8450". It is speculated to be the next Snapdragon flagship chipset because the part number of the SD 888 was "SM8350". Therefore it is presumable that the next model is supposed to be launching soon. It is rumored to be a 4nm fabrication along with Kryo 780 CPU built on Arm cortex V9 technology. Considering the design, it is supposed to have 3 CPU cores - 1* cortex XZ, 3* cortex A710, and  4* cortex A510. Other key components are Spectra 680 ISP, LPDDR5 ram, Adreno 665 video processing unit (VPU), Adreno 1195 display processing unit (DPU), and also an integrated Snapdragon X65 5G modem - RF system.

AMD Radeon - Nvidia out?

Image
AMD's New GPU running the show!     So, AMD has launched its brand new GPU line: the Radeon 6000 series. Once again AMD has delivered on its price to performance ratio, much like its CPUs. AMD hav e launched 3 GPUs: RX 6800M, RX 6700M, RX 6600M . These are supposed to go head to head with Nvidia's RTX 3080, RTX 3070, RTX 3060 respectively.  The Radeon works on AMD RDNA 2 architecture. The RX 6800M provides a 96MB AMD infinity cache along with a 12GB GDDR6 memory size. The RX 6800M GPU clocks at 2300Mhz and can be pumped up to 145+ W.  But the main attractive and fascinating point about the Radeon 6000  s eries is the fact that it performance improves when it is paired with AMD Ryzen processors. The AMD smartshift is a feature which allows the system to balance the power distribution between the GPU and CPU according to the needs.  AMD has seriously upped their game the last couple of years. And while the performance may not vary that much from that of Intel or Nvidia, the price

New Poco Phone!

Android 12 security features.

Image
Android 12 - How secure is it?  What's new in Android 12's new privacy policy? How secure is it comparing to the previous android versions? Well, in terms of build, Google has given android 12 a complete new build overhaul along with cool brand new features. But it begs the question : what's new about the privacy policy? Many smartphone companies often have their own in-built apps (bloatware) which require a lot of permissions risking the privacy and security of the users. Google has announced that, with the launch of Android 12, they would make the collection of data more transparent. Considering that many apps asks for unnecessary permissions, this is an excellent feature. Users themselves will be able to modify the permissions. A privacy dashboard provides the users with an overview on all the apps and the permissions they ask for. It shows how many apps have permissions to your camera, microphone, location, etc. Comment your thoughts about this new feature from Android.

Chip Shortage - Here To Stay? The chip shortage might be here to stay! At least for the foreseeable future. The Intel CEO  Pat Gelsinger has it would take several years to tackle the problem of shortage of semiconductors.  Semiconductors are required for almost all electrical appliances, including electric cars, mobile phones, laptops, etc. The damage should be enough to cripple all the big players in the industry including the likes of Samsung, Qualcomm, Nvidia, and Intel. The production of  X-box series X/S, Playstation 5 also did take a hit. Covid-19 has increased the use of electronic appliances across the world resulting in the massive surge of need for semiconductors.
